Welcome to 8th Grade Summer School!

 

Dear Students and Parents,

Welcome to the 8th grade summer school program! I am Mr. Fleming, and I will be your child’s Mathematics teacher this summer. I am excited to work with your child and embark on this journey of learning and growth together. It's going to be a great summer filled with new information and reviewing previously learned concepts.

Summer school can be very challenging due to the short time frame, but we will make the most of our time by developing new skills and sharpening existing ones. Our classroom, both virtual and in-person, will be based on respect and responsibility. I will guide the students to be responsible for their own work and workspace and reinforce the importance of behaving in a polite and respectful manner.

My mission is to instill a love for learning in the students. I will teach with passion, hoping to inspire a desire for lifelong learning. Please feel free to text me if you have any questions or concerns. I look forward to a great summer and to meeting you, whether virtually or in person.

This year, students will use the IXL application (https://www.ixl.com/math/) and I-Ready to support their learning. These tools are designed to assist both students and teachers. Active participation in class is essential for mastering mathematics, so I encourage all students to engage fully in our activities.
