Monday, June 15th is the 3rd grade Stow Creek Visitation Day. 3rd grade students will be dropped off at Stow Creek to spend the day with the 4th graders getting to learn the Stow Creek building, staff, and routines. Students who are car riders will be picked up from Stow Creek as well.
The last day of school for this year will be Thursday, June 18th. We continue to work right up to the last day. I tell the students that they get their money's worth in 3rd grade. :) Working and learning helps keep behavior issues down and keeps the children's brains strong. Over the summer it's good to keep them learning as well. Practice those times tables and keep reading daily if possible.
Please keep encouraging your children to read, read, read! The more a child reads for enjoyment the better reader AND writer they will become. The more exposure children get to reading material the better they will overcome reversals and reading difficulties.
Some weeks we will work on spelling words, and other weeks we will be focusing on building words and creating words from word parts in centers in class. Most of our homework will be completed in class.
