   It's hard to believe but another school year is about to begin! I hope that everyone is enjoying the last few remaining weeks of summer vacation!  I am looking forward to another fantastic school year and working with all of you.  For the upcoming school year the students will be practicing and enhancing their grammar skills, reading amazing stories both in class and out of class, and of course writing in different genres such as narrative, persuasive and argumentative just to name a few.  It is really exciting both for the students and for myself to see the growth that takes place with their writing from September to June.    

   I know that some of you will be looking forward to back-to-school shopping, so I have included the items that the students will need to have by the second week of school. I will also go over these items with the students on the first day of school. The items that they will need include:

• One three-ringed binder 1 1/2"-2" (soft or hard cover)                   
• One pack of dividers with tabs (Notes, CW/HW, Worksheets, Tests/Quizzes)
  
• One single subject notebook for notes (or can use loose leaf paper in binder)
  
• Highlighters (optional)
• Pens/Pencils

 

* The students will receive one hard back textbook that will need to be covered. If you want to get a book sock before school starts you can, but books can also be covered with paper.

 

**I know that some students like to use pens and different colored pens. Students are allowed to use different colored pens when taking notes, but it is not a requirement.
