Hello and welcome back to another school year at Maurice River Township Elementary School! Here is a little information about me! My name is Mrs. Shaw and I will be your child’s Resource teacher for this school year. This is my twelfth year teaching at MRTES; 10 of those years have been as a Special Education teacher. I received my Bachelor’s of Science degree, with a dual major, in Early Childhood and Special Education from West Chester University. I was born and raised in Pennsylvania, and journeyed to NJ where I currently reside with my family. I have a husband, two energetic boys (ages 7 and 5), and two crazy dogs named Lacey and Gus!
The goal of the resource program is to help students to become confident, optimistic, and independent learners. It is designed to help students understand their learning style, support their academic growth and develop skills and strategies, which will lead to personal success. I will be working directly with the grade level teachers each day to ensure we are both meeting your child's academic needs.
I encourage you to contact me at any time with any questions, concerns or updates you may have. You can reach me through phone and/or email. I am hoping that we can all work together, to create the utmost success for your child this school year. I look forward to working together, as a team, as we begin this exciting school year.
