In fourth grade this year, students will become stronger readers, writers, and thinkers. Using rich books and articles, kids will build real-world knowlege about history, science, and the world around them.
In fourth grade, the units we will cover include:
- The Whipping Boy: A novel study where students explore theme, character motivations, and historical setting in the medieval world.
- The American Revolution: A deep dive into history where students read informational texts to understand perspectives on the war for U.S. independence from Great Britain.
- The Lightning Thief: Through this unit, students don't just read a great story--they explore how ancient Greek myths, heroes, and gods still influence modern-day literature and language.
We will dive deeply into real, published novels to help students learn how to analyze text, solve problems, and share their unique ideas with confidence.
