Our Tigers are encouraged to read 20 - 30 minutes every day. Our library offers a variety of books to meet every students' needs. They will enjoy reading more if their parents, grandparents, or guardians read with them and discuss the various books they bring home.
All students have library class once a week for 45 minutes. We will cover a variety of topics this year and complete a research project or two.
The library is open for exchange from 7:30 - 8:00 a.m. and during a few afternoons. During this time, students may turn in the books they have read and check out new ones. Each student is allowed 2 books at a time.
Students must have a 90% accuracy and have all of their points in order to meet their AR goal. Students that meet their AR goal will be rewarded each 9 weeks. Students that meet their AR goal ALL year will have a special reward at the end of the 9 weeks. We also encourage students to become a Sallie Humble Million Word Reader. This is a special honor for our avid readers.
