Welcome to 7th grade!
This is my 8th year of teaching Mathematics but, my 1st year at Rene Rost. I would like to introduce myself as your new 7th grade Math teacher. I hope to spark interest in the area of mathematics, encourage students to take ownership of their education and of course, be successful.
I have set high expectations for all my students and expect them to be responsible for their own work and behaviors. The goal is for students to strengthen their math basics foundation and prepare them for high school. If help is needed I will be more than happy to help. Be responsible, if you need help, ask.
We have a year filled with lots of fun learning. If you need to get in touch with me, please email and put your child's name in the "memo/message" section of the email.
You can help your child in several ways:
- Know what your child’s assignments are by checking their agenda daily or the website.
- Have your child share his or her math notebook with you, showing you what has been recorded as we progress through the content. Ask your child to explain why these ideas are important.
- Look over completed work (homework and classwork) and make sure that errors have been corrected.
- If a student has forgotten how to work out problems use online tutorial videos found on recommended websites
