Frequently Asked Questions

What is the policy on absences?

If you know your child is going to be absent please contact me and I will do my best to
get work together for them. You can always pick up your child's work at school
(there is a homework bin outside the main entrance door )or work can be
sent home with another student or sibling. Please just let me know. Please be sure to send
in a note the day your child arrives back at school so that we can keep it on record in the office.

How can I help my child be a better student?

Ask your child about their day. Ask them what kinds of things he/she did in school today.
Please be sure to check your child's backpack and homework folder everyday. Ask your child
about the papers that are in there. Encourage your child to try to complete homework on their
own by reading the directions aloud. Then if he/she does not understand encourage them to ask
for help. If you notice any errors in the homework ask your child to review the homework again
to see if he/she can identify the misatkes. If homework is not being understood please jot me a
note in the homework book so that I can review the next day in class.

How do we celebrate birthdays?

If your child is celebrating a birthday, please feel free to send in a special treat for the class.
Students will celebrate their birthday during lunch. Please be sure that all treats are individually wrapped.
Treats
can be brought to school that morning or brought to the office before 11am.
