STAR OF THE WEEK

 

Dear Parents,

   When we have become well versed in first grade procedures, a student will be chosen to be Star of the Week. When it is your child’s turn, he or she will be my special helper throughout the week. They will assist with classroom teacher jobs.

   On Monday your child may bring in photos of themselves as well as a parent letter which will be displayed on the Star of the Week bulletin board.  This letter is written by you, the parent, telling the class how special your child is to you. Please send the letter to school, and I will read it aloud during our Morning Meeting. Your child will also be given the opportunity to bring Curious George home for the week (see Curious George Parent Letter). This time frame is flexible within the week.

   On Tuesday, your child may bring in something special for Show and Tell. On Wednesday, students may bring in a favorite short book to share with the class. On Thursday, students may choose a book from our classroom library for me to read to the class. Finally, on Friday, your child will be recognized by their classmates, and presented with a Star of the Week certificate.
