August 2025
Dear Parents/Guardians and Children,
I hope you are enjoying your summer. I am having fun spending time with my golden retriever, Molly, relaxing by the creek, and picking peaches from my backyard.. School is just around the corner, and I would like to welcome you to the Fourth Grade. I am very excited about starting the school year.
On the first day of school, we will be spending some time getting to know each other. Please have your child bring a peanut-free snack and a water bottle. It would be great if they could bring in a photo of them having fun with family. Photos that are 4x6 or 5x7 are preferred. If you do not have a printer, please email the photos to me. I would like to create a bulletin board with these. The students often love to look at the photos during snack and dismissal.
Below is a list of supplies your child will keep in their desk for themselves to use. I have tried to keep the list very short, as I understand supplies can get very expensive quickly, and finances are tight for many. If you are unable to obtain supplies for your child, I will be happy to help them with the necessary things for a successful school year.
I have colored pencils, crayons, erasers, scissors, highlighters, and markers for each student. If they would like their own supplies, you can purchase them to stay in their desks, but it is not necessary for a successful year. They do not need binders or notebooks. Please do not purchase these. Please also keep all toys at home.
Addition items your child needs
-
Sharpened Pencils
-
Wired Headphones
-
1 Heavy-duty pocket folder with your child's name on it.
If you are able, we often use Chlorox wipes to keep the germs away. Soft tissues are perfect for sensitive noses when the cold and flu season hits, and Ziploc baggies in quart and gallon sizes are always appreciated.
I am very excited to be teaching fourth grade this year. This upcoming school year will be my 24th year at JFK. Working together, we can have a successful year for your fourth grader. Please feel free to contact me by email. I look forward to meeting you. Please reach out before the first day of school if you have any concerns or things I need to know about your child before school starts. I do my best to check my emails at least once a day in the summer.
Warmly,
Miss Jaclyn Kritzar
