In addition to practicing the Dolch word lists with your child, you can work with numbers with your child. Your child can practice saying and writing their numbers 1-100
**Find Out How Your Child is doing in School!
By going to mygradeportal.com and typing in the username and password you can view your child's daily homework assignments, up to date grades, attendance/lateness records, discipline records,, and teacher websites. To obtain individual usernames and passwords for your student, log on to Oncourse, search for the student under People, under the tab Miscellaneous (on the bottom) look for Portal Username and Password.

**A note to parent(s)/guardian:
Please read to your child every night for at least 15 minutes. When reading you model accuracy, fluency, and expression. In addition, you can have your child read to you for at least 15 minutes. This will allow you the opportunity to see your child's progress first hand. Also, could you please review letter/sound recognition for short vowel sounds (the letter "a" like in the words at and man---the letter "e" like in the words yes and web---the letter "i" like in the words it and mix---the letter "o" like in the words lot and stop---the letter "u" like in the words up and bug and all the consonants (b-bug, c-cat, d-dog, f-fan, g-gum, h-hop, j-jump, k-kit, l-like, m-mud, n-not, p-pig, q-quick, r-ran, s-sit, t-top, v-vest, w-wet, x-wax, y-yet, and z-zoo). This additional practice will help your child with their decoding skills (sounding out words). Thank you for all that you do, together we can make a difference!
