- Ø To have a fun and safe environment where students can participate in all activities
- Ø Develop an attitude of sportsmanship and fair play in all activities
- Ø Develop locomotive movements (walk, run, hop, skip, jump, gallop, slide, and leap)
- Ø Rolling, balancing and weight transfer
- Ø Throwing, catching, kicking, punting, volleying and striking
- Ø Chasing, fleeing, dodging (skills used in tag and group games)
- Ø Body awareness (body parts and body shapes)
- Ø Spatial awareness (moving through space by self and with others; moving in different directions; at different levels; and on different pathways)
- Ø Develop personal skills
- Ø Relationships (partners, cooperative group activities, and team sports skills)
- Recreational play and games with lifetime emphasis on health and fitness

HEALTH GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
Identify personal risk factors associated with disease or poor health. Evaluate personal health practices to disease prevention/control and wellness. Develop a plan of action that show the role of personal behavior in disease prevention/control and wellness. Explain how to make responsible decisions. Identify ways of dealing with stress. Identify factors that may lead to teen suicide. Identify where to go for help regarding health issues. Examine the relationship of nutrition and health maintenance. Examine common over-the-counter (OTC) medications. Evaluate the physical, social and economic effect of substance abuse on individuals, families, the community, and the larger society. Formulate healthy alternatives to using drugs. Understand the role of sexual attitudes and values in decision making. Describe the role of intimacy in development of caring relationships. Describe the advantages of abstinence. Examine the issue of teen pregnancy as it relates to the health of mother and child. Identify the major male/female reproduction parts and the functions of human anatomy. Recognize the importance of preventative Reproductive Health care (i.e. Testicular Self-Exam, Breast Self-Exam, Prostrate Exam, Pelvic Exam and Pap Smear). Recognize the major sexually transmitted infections ( i.e. AIDS, Syphilis, Gonorrhea, Herpes, Chlamydia, Vaginitis, Parasites, HPV – Genital Warts, Hepatitis) along with their symptoms, treatment and prevention. Examine one’s social/legal rights and responsibilities in dealing with S.T.I.’s. Identify birth control methods and contraceptivestives.
