Welcome 4th Graders and Parents!

The attached file at the bottom of this page should answer most, if not all of your questions about joining 5th grade Orchestra.

Orchestra Choices:

Violin

Highest sounds.  Your child should enjoy hearing high sounds to play this instrument.

Viola (vee-OH-lah)

Middle sounds.  Looks and feels exactly like a violin, but will be more pleasing to those who prefer middle-range sounds.

Cello

Middle-Low sounds.  Must sit down to play this instrument.  Sound is said to resemble human voice.  Check out:  http://thepianoguys.com videos.  (Piano and cello together!) *Student favorites:  Cello Wars (Star Wars parody), Me & My Cello So Happy Together.

Bass

Lowest sounds.  Students will sit on a stool while playing this instrument.  This instrument is like the heartbeat/drumset of the orchestra - it will help keep everyone together.  It is important that students who choose this instrument have a good sense of steady beat.

**Please read this attached letter about rental prices and transportation regarding the bass:
