Dear New Fifth Grade Students and Families,
Welcome to Eisenhower School! We hope this letter finds you well and are enjoying your summer. We are looking forward to meeting you and hearing all about your exciting summer adventures.
Fifth grade will be a time when we will continue to learn, succeed, and grow as a classroom community, as well as independent learners. You will be encouraged to accomplish goals, work with others, and use critical thinking skills. We will explore a variety of new activities while we continue to provide support and encouragement for one another.
Some supplies that you should bring on the first day of school are:
-
1-inch binder
-
soft pencil case, with holes to fit in the binder- no pencil boxes please
-
earbuds/headphones to fit into pencil case
Other supplies such as additional folders, notebooks, calculators, crayons, rulers, glue, scissors, etc., will be available in our classrooms. Feel free to purchase any other supplies you may like!
Getting a locker is both one of the most exciting things about fifth grade and the most frustrating. The fifth grade walk through will be on August 29 at 10AM, which is a great time to try out your locker! You will find lockers labeled with your names and locker combinations. There will also be instructions posted for how to open your locker. Please try your locker! Any extra practice will certainly help!
We are looking forward to beginning a new school year with you in September. Enjoy the rest of your summer!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Arnold (Language Arts)
Mrs. Ryan (Math, Science, SS)
