The following are a few simple rules that when followed will lead to a successful and rewarding year in class for all of us.

Be on time (When the bell rings you are seated at your desk)

Be prepared (Have all necessary materials with you including HW)

Be respectful (When others are talking you are not)

Be open (Have respect for everyone’s viewpoint in class)

*These are just general rules to be followed.  Other rules and consequences can be found in your student handbook.

Tests, Quizzes and Research Papers:

Tests will be given at the end of each unit that we have studied.  Quizzes will be given at various times during the course of each unit, about once a week.  These combined will be worth approximately 50% of each marking period grade.

Homework, notebook checks, reading checks, chapter packets and various other class work will make up approximately 35% of the marking period grade.

Projects, essays and other class assignments as well as class participation will make up approximately 15% of the marking period grade.

A research paper will be assigned; every student must turn in a paper to receive credit for the course.
