Hamilton School Song

 I can change the world

With my heart and with my mind

 I can change the world

If I’m strong and if I’m kind.

 We will work together

 To make this world better

 We can change the world

 We are Hamilton School.

 Cambia su mundo

Con su corazón y su mente.

 Cambia su mundo

 Sea fuerte y amable.

 Trabajamos juntos

 Para cambiar el mundo.

 Podemos cambiar

 Nosotros somos Hamilton.

 We will work together

 To make this world better

 We can change the world

 We are Hamilton School.
Yeah!

About the Hamilton Music Program
For complete details on the please click the "PreK-4th Grade Music Program" Tab

In Summary + Hamilton Specifics:

The music program in the BRRSD is based on a spiral curriculum.
All major musical concepts are covered in every grade and get more specific, detailed, and advanced as the students get older.
One additional goal specific to the Hamilton music program is to give all students a chance to perform for each other in our community building "School-Wide Performance Series" events.  Forth grade will have an additional end of year performance for parents.
All classes are seen once a week for 40 minutes except Kindergarten which meets once a week for 20 minutes.

K-1st grade
Students will learn the music curriculum (melody, rhythm, harmony, texture, timbre, expression, composition, improvisation, dynamics, form, genre, tempo, etc) through singing, movement, listening, and playing classroom instruments.

2nd Grade:
All of the above plus the beginnings of reading music notation and learning the musical terminology to go along the skills and knowledge they have gained.

3rd Grade:
All of the above plus learning how to play recorder.  Reading standard music notation becomes a regular classroom activity.

4th Grade:
The culmination of the elementary music program.  Students will continue gaining knowledge and learning/creating/performing more advanced music on classroom instruments, recorders, and through singing.  Students will be introduced to choral and instrumental programs that begins in 5th grade and will have an opportunity to "sample" instruments later in the year.

Special Education students recieve the same music instruction as their peers, modified and adapted to their specific needs.
