Meet the Literacy Coach
Dear Literacy Coaching Families,
Hello, my name is Mrs. Cirone & I will be your child’s Literacy Coach at Oakview School. I work closely with students, teachers & families to provide extra literacy support in a small group, pull-out setting. The literacy coaching sessions are 3-5 times per week for approximately 15-30 minutes, depending on the needs of your child.
The elementary grades are truly an exciting time in your child’s educational experience. They are packed with fun-filled, new adventures in the world of learning. These years are an important time to build a strong foundation in literacy on which he/she can build upon across a lifetime. We will be working on foundational skills such as phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, encoding, fluency, and comprehension.
It is important to keep in mind that each of us develops at our own pace. Each child will progress at his/her own rate, acquiring skills as he/she is developmentally ready. I will assist your child this year by teaching, reteaching and reinforcing skills your child needs to acquire proficiency in the area of reading and writing.
Your support & involvement at home is a crucial part of your child’s success in the classroom. I am looking forward to working together to make your child’s learning experience a positive one.
