IT'S DEFINITELY COOL TO BE IN BAND!
but don't take my word for it. . .
see what Hillside band members have to say about it:

It's cool to be a part of something and be involved, and to learn cool music with other people!  I love it!  Bianca (saxophone)

We get to express ourselves playing instruments.  (Nick--baritone)

I think it's really interesting, it's social, and I like doing extracurricular things.  I can't imagine NOT being in band!  I like playing pieces that have really cool fingering switches. When I'm in the zone, I can play all the really cool fingerings without even thinking about it, and I love that feeling.  (Nick--saxophone)

In percussion you get to play a lot of different instruments.   Each note you play is combined into a bigger piece, and it all sounds good together.  (Ying--percussion)

When you play just your instrument, it's a small part, but when you play in the band you're a part of something big.  (Caitlyn--percussion).

You get to meet new people in band, and you start to understand how challenging and fun it is to make music.    (Matt--saxophone)

You get to learn new pieces, and as you get better you get to play harder and harder music, and it gets more and more enjoyable.  (James--saxophone)

At first you should try it, because after you play you start to realize  it's marvelous to play such exciting music, and the pieces we do are really above and beyond.  (Xavier--saxophone)

Band is very exciting.  You start off with just one piece, and by the end of the year you feel like an expert.  You get to do all these stupendous pieces and you get to realize the magic of music.  You learn things every day, and one day you might just be an expert musician.  Also, the teachers are awesome!  (Isaac--saxophone).
