Single Author: Use last name and page number

Studies have suggested that teenagers at Bridgewater-RaritanHigh School thoroughly enjoy all of their classes (Jones 5).

Two authors:  Use both last names and page number

Unknown Author:  Use title or a shortened version of title and page number

Homelessness continues to be a problem in America, but officials in large cities are looking for proactive solutions (“A New Hope” 11).

 

 

Author’s name in text:  If author’s name is used in text, use just page number

Jones suggests that perhaps the problem of bullying can be attributed to lack of character education in elementary schools (5).
