Dear Montrose Parents:

I want to make you aware of a computer program that our school district has been able to acquire called MathFacts in a Flash®. MathFacts in a Flash is an easy to use program that is designed to help students develop the basic mathematic computational skills that most students should be able to master by the end of the sixth grade. The program is completely individualized and offers practice and quizzes to help each student achieve according to his or her own skill level and learning pace. Best of all, MathFacts in a Flash is accessible from any computer with Internet connection. On the back of this page are step-by-step instructions on how to access the program. Please note that some computers may need to download some additional software (all free) in order for MathFacts in a Flash to function properly.

I have also included a completion chart that indicates the 62 different math computation levels addressed by the program. This chart also identifies the specific skills that should be mastered by the end of each grade level. Any work that students complete at home (or any other place where they have Internet access) is automatically sent to their math teacher so they are able to receive full credit for their efforts. Most importantly, MathFacts in a Flash offers a new way for students to develop and strengthen the basic math skills necessary for success in their math classes throughout their school career.

I am confident that students who invest the time to build their math skills using MathFacts in aFlash will build the foundation necessary for math success now and in the future. I encourage you and your child to give MathFacts in a Flash a try.

10. You will be directed to a green and white screen where you may select the yellow START TEST button.

Didn’t work? Try this!

Go back to STEP 5 – The student log in screen.

In the upper RIGHT corner select the blue words that say RETURN TO WELCOME, you will be directed to a new screen.

At the bottom of the screen select CHECK SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS

Go through the process of checking to see if you have all of the appropriate software to run the program.

It may take a bit of time to actually download the new software or software updates. (Remember that this should only happen the first time you attempt to log on. The next time you will simply need to follow steps 1-10.)
