Green =Ready to learn! Yay!
Yellow = A Very Good Day!
Orange Card = Great Day!!
Red = Outstanding Day!
Blue=1st warning, No consequence
Loss of privilege if a student turns to blue more then once in a week
Purple= 2 warnings, student/teacher conference
Pink= Time out/ automatic loss of privilege
*Each student wiill have their planner stamped green in the morning with the expectation of a great day! Planners will be stamped with whatever color they end their day on. A teacher note will be included if necessary.
Loss of privilege including, but not limited to, participating in rewards, Play time, etc.

AR
AR stands for Accelerated Reader, which is a software program created by the company Reading Renaissance. AR is essentially a program that allows for individualized reading and testing based on your child’s independent reading level. The program allows for (and teaches) the students how to select books for themselves on their level, that interest them as well as challenges them, and best of all…teaches them a lot of independence. Students love the fact that they get to choose their own books. As they check out, read, and test on books, I am constantly monitoring their progress and average percentage. Each student is given a point goal as well as an average percent that they need to maintain. As the student reaches a point where their color (reading level) is too easy, they are moved up to the next color. Many school-wide and classroom and rewards are in place for those students that read every night, achieve point goals, and maintain good averages. I am looking forward to all the great AR incentives our school has this year. Please encourage your child to read every night for 15 minutes, as it is also part of their homework. Thanks for all your help with AR and encouraging a love of reading in your child!
You can monitor their progression toward their goal by logging in to your child’s Renaissance account through the Launchpad. Please let us know if you need the directions on how to do that sent home again. If your child does not reach their goal for the quarter, they will have an opportunity to “get a jump” on the following quarter’s goal by reading during the celebration. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child’s point goal, please contact us. It is going to be a great year!!
If your child meets their individual quarterly goal, and maintains their average percent correct goal, by the deadlines set, they can attend the quarterly A.R. celebration. Those dates will be by the last day of each quarter.

Having your child practice their addition and subtraction facts each night is a big help. Thank you for your help at home! It makes a huge difference!

Student of the Week!
The Star Student!!
Each 5 day week, a student will be chosen as our Eagle of the Week. Student's will make a poster about themselves and it will be displayed in our classroom all week, along with family photos and other pictures they choose to share. On Friday, the Student of the Week will get a certificate, a pencil, and have their name read out on the news. Congratulations!!
Posters will be returned at the end of the school year. :)
