WELCOME TO FIRST GRADE!

I am your guide to a wonderful world of learning. It is a pleasure, as well as a privilege to be working with such a bright young mind as your child. Before I go any further please let me introduce myself, my name is Dr. Harris. I am excited about having your child in my class this year. With your support, your child will enjoy a thrilling, as well as, rewarding academic year.

Remember, first grade is a foundational year. Students will begin to build their reading and mathematical skills. These skills will determine whether or not your child will be successful in the proceeding grades to come. But with their own personal team cheering them on (you and I), your child will be sure to succeed.

In the following pages, you will find out what will be expected of your child while he or she is in my class.
