Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!



Please allow me to first introduce myself.  My name is Ms. Heather Hemingway.   This is my 21st school year as a special education teacher.  Prior to joining the Middle Township family in February 2010, I taught at Pinelands Regional Junior High School in Little Egg Harbor, NJ.  I have taught Self-contained,  In class support, and RR for all subjects grades 6-9.  I am highly Qualified in History, Math, and Literacy.  I hold a certified Teacher of the Handicapped certificate K-12 , as well as, an Elementary Education general certificate K-8.  I also hold a certificate in social work NJ CSW.  I am looking forward to working with your son/daughter this school year.   Listed below are my classes, and the order in which I teach them.


HR, Panther Block: "Sewing", Math (6th grade), Math (6th grade),  Social Studies (6th grade), and Social Studies (6th grade)


Each of my classes will be working on the 6th grade curriculum and according to the goals and objectives for the IEPs.  Text book and online links can be found to the left on this page.    Students  will have Homework approximately once a week.  We have weekly classwork assignments.  We will also be completing projects throughout the school year.   In addition students will have a chance to earn "passport stamps" for grades of  90 and above, and as rewards for  various activities throughout  class time. 


We will  be exploring and learning about World History/Ancient History and Math topics according to the New Jersey State Standards.  Students in my Social Stuides classes will be assigned a news/current event homework once a week, due on Thursday.  My Math students will be encouraged to continue improving their math fact fluency at home, for which their weekly homework will coincide and also be due on Thursday.
