Growing up, I was the kid who always made her friends and sister play school. And of course, I was always the teacher! I come from a long line of educators, so I knew that education was my calling years ago. As I entered high school, my career goal remained the same, but I realized that there was something special about those four years. High school is like no other time in your life. It was then that I realized that a high school teacher is what I wanted to be. And I have always loved math, so that was the natural choice. Upon graduation from Buckeye High School, I started college at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond. I graduated in December 2009 with a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Mathematics Education and a minor in English Education.
Two days after graduation from college, I began teaching at Tioga High School. I had a fantastic time teaching there through May 2011. In August 2011, I began teaching at Buckeye High School, my home.
In May 2015, I graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction, with a concentration in Academically Gifted.
I am thrilled to be starting another exciting year at Buckeye. We are going to have a wonderful year and learn so many great things!
