Keyboarding Syllabus

General Description

It is the purpose of the Keyboarding Class to provide students with basic computer application skills.  Students will be introduced to the touch method (typing) of keyboard operation, which will be utilized to produce business documents and presentations.  Emphasis will be placed on basic computer concepts, technique, accuracy, and speed. Students will also learn formatting skills needed to create business documents such as personal business letters, memos, reports, and presentations.

 

Expectations and Goals

  • Come to class on time

  • Sit at your assigned computer

  • Signal for assistance; do not call out

  • No eating, drinking, or gum chewing in class

  • Do not share usernames or passwords

  • Prepare to work from bell to bell

  • Work quietly

 

Make-up Policy

All missed tests/assignments will be made up during PASS following the student’s return to school after being absent.  

 

Supplies Needed:  Composition notebook, paper folder, and writing utensil

Seven point grading scale as designated by RPSB.

  • 92-85B

  • 84-75C

  • 74-67D

  • 66-0F

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will receive a high school credit.
