Each marking period the students starts out with 100 points.
Proper Attire- Attendance - Participation 80 points
Each marking period a student may earn a maximum of 80 points toward his/her physical education grade by daily, wearing the proper gym attire, actively participating in all activities, and being in attendance at the time “roll” is initiated.
6 points off: Failure to wear entire prescribed gym attire. A student will be considered “unprepared” and WILL NOT be permitted to participate in physical education class if he/she is (a) without sneakers, or (b) wearing inappropriate shorts or shirt. Sneakers must be securely fastened with all laces visible on the outside. Boots, Uggs, Sandals, and Slip-Ons are not allowed.
4 points off – Student is not wearing prescribed gym attire but is wearing sneakers and able to participate with the class.
1, 2, 3 point off- unsatisfactory participation (non warm up, unsportsmanlike conduct)
6 points off – cutting class will be considered as being unprepared for
Class and the appropriate amount of points (1st, 2nd, and 3rd unprepared) will be deducted- in addition, appropriate disciplinary action will be taken by the school discipline.
Knowledge of Activity – Effort, Improvement and Cooperation–
(Full Value Contract) - 20 points
Fitness Test/ Quizzes 10 points – 2 marking periods of fitness test.
1 marking period of written tests. Average of 3 quizzes
in that marking period
Full Value Contract 10 points – One contract given at end of marking
period
Students will have the opportunity to make-up days in which they lost a total of 6 points only. The student will earn a total of 3 points back. Students may come and make up a class once a day either during lunch, study hall, or Tuesdays after school.
