Dear Students,

Welcome to first grade! I hope you have had a terrific summer. Mine was so much fun! I’ll tell you all about it when we share our favorite summer activities. We have so many exciting things to learn together this year. You will become a reader and a writer. You will be learning many new math ideas and ways to solve math problems. Our social studies units will focus on families, friends, and children around the world. The science units will include activities about sound and light and air and weather.

I hope that you are as thrilled about the new school year as I am! I know that this will be a very special year for you and me. I can’t wait to meet you on Tuesday, September 3rd in Room G4.
