What is a "word wall" you may ask? 

A word wall is a special place, typically on a wall, where you can hang words your child is learning to read.  In school, we hang high frequency words. These words are words that appear most often in printed materials. (I, see, my, etc.) We have also added our color words to our wall. The children practice saying and spelling these words each day.  At conference time you will receive print out of the list of words your child aready knows, and the words that need to be worked on.  At open house night, you will receive a Sight word list.
