A leader is someone who others willingly follow and who encompasses traits such as authenticity, trustworthiness, kindness, commitment, savvy, fairness, appreciation, and respect in an environment where people feel safe and loved; however, followership within an organization is far more important than leadership. Camaraderie and the creation of a culture in which everyone is working in unison towards a common goal and where every opinion is valued and entertained is one in which success is inevitable. The contagious concepts of optimism, positive thinking, and collaborative leadership beget success as does a high level of emotional intelligence. Ultimately, my mission is to work with others so that they are imbued with a lifelong desire to grow while always bearing in mind that a leader cannot educate others if they fail to act as an appropriate role-model.
