Writer's Workshop-   This week in writer's workshop students we continue writing true stories. We will discuss how to tell a story. We will use words such as, "one day, then , finally." We will also add feelings to our writing, so the reader understands how we are feeling about our story.  Students will continue to learn how to write more than one sentence and emphasize spacing between words. At the end of writing they will share their work and use complete sentences to talk about their drawing and their writing. Students will continue to "bubble gum" or stretch out their words to hear all the sounds and write what they hear. Ex: cat we will stretch to hear each individual sound: /c/a/t/ and then write the letters to match their sounds: cat. Students will also use their alphabet chart to help them write the sounds of the letters in their words. We will learn that all words have a vowel in them. Students will also use their word wall words (sight words) to help them with their writing.

Fundations and Word WorkThis week students will continue to blend CVC words. Students will be given a word such as: lap and sound each letter and then blend the sounds together to create the given word.
