Power Scale

The Power Scale is our classroom's Positive Behavior System! The Power Scale consists of 5 colors:  orange, purple, green, yellow, and red.  Each student will be given a clothespin with their name on it.  Everyone begins each day with their name clipped to the green box (Full Power).  Students will be given warnings and reminders to stay on task and follow our school and classroom rules.  After a couple reminders, students will be asked to "Power Down" (move their clip down to the yellow box, Low Power).  If students continue to have difficulty following our school and classroom rules, they will be asked to move their clip down to the red box (No Power).  Parents will be notified with a note or phone call if their child ends the day with their clip in the red box!  On a positive note, students who work hard, stay focused, and follow all of our school and classroom rules will have the opportunity to "Power Up" (move their clip up to the purple box, Super Power or even the orange box, Mighty Max Power)!!!
***Any student on yellow has the opportunity to power back up to green if they show a positive change in their behavior :-)

As an incentive, students will be able to choose a small prize at the end of each day ONLY if their clip is on the green, purple, or orange box at the end of the day.

Mighty Max Power(orange)- Excellent Behavior: these students will choose a pencil, eraser, or small treat from the orange tub

Super Power (purple)- Super Behavior: these students will choose a sticker from the purple tub

Full Power (green)- Good Behavior: these students will receive a "together we can" ticket from the green tub

Low Power- Warning! Warning! (yellow)- Rule(s) Broken, time to "recharge"; these students will lose either 5 or 10 minutes of their recess or free time

No Power- Empty (red)- Rule(s) continuously broken, time to reflect/"recharge"; these students will lose their entire recess or free time, meet/discuss their behavior with the teacher, and the teacher will also send a detailed note or call home; in severe cases, an ODR form (Office Disciplinary Form) will be completed and a detention may be issued by myself or Ms. Miles.

Power Scale Completion = SUPER PRIZE DAY!!! Any student who has received "Full Power" or above on their entire power scale (in the B.E.E. Book), will be able to choose a special prize from our classroom treasure chest!!!

At the end of each day, students will record their final "Power Status" on their individual power scale (located inside the B.E.E. Book).  This allows parents the opportunity to see how their child is doing (behaviorally) in school each day.  Remind your students to "POWER UP" each day!!!
