Reminders:

Please make sure your child practices addition and subtraction fact families, because we will move into multiplication at the start of 3rd grade.

It would be very helpful to your child if you would help them practice their multiplication facts on a daily basis.  Flash cards and skip counting are a great ways to learn the facts.  .

Please encourage your child to read at least 20 minutes every night.  Try having them read aloud to you so that you may listen for fluency.  Ask your child about what they read.  Have them retell it in their own words. 

Also, encourage your child to write in complete sentences as much as possible and to write paragraphs about various topics that you may give them.  Go over their writings with them and celebrate them.  Talk about any mistakes that you may find to demonstrate the editing process.
