Dear Parents,
I am looking forward to this new year.  I hope that all of the children will come in with a big smile and a positive attitude every day.  We are going to be working very hard so I need all of the children to get a good night's rest and to eat breakfast!

No question or concern is ever too small.  Please do not ever hesitate to write me a note, send me an e-mail or place a phone call.  I will get back to you as soon as I am free.  I am at school by 7:00, I have a prep every day, and I stay at school usually until 4.  So these are some good times to call.

I run my classroom as I have run my own home with my own  children- we are a family.  We work
together and we support each other in all ways.  We celebrate each individual success together and we always help and root for those who are having some difficulty.

I expect a great deal from the children.  I do expect them to do their work at school and there homework at home.  If they do not there will be consequences.  I am sure if we all work together we will not have to worry about the consequences.

There will be some homework for the children.  All ELA students will be expected to read for 20 minutes a night.  They will also have spelling, sight word, and writing  homework interdispersed throughout the school weeks.  If there is ever any problem with completing homework let me know and we can absolutely work something out.  Math students will have homework 2-3 times a week and practicing facts as needed.

You will get a progress report each Friday.  This will be stapled to your child's work for the week.  There is a place for me to write notes and a place for parents to write.  These progress reports need to be signed by one parent and sent back to school Monday.  (Keep your child's work, just send the report back.)

Please check this page periodically.  I will be adding to it from time to time.
