Mr. Ryan’s
Grading Policy
- Everyone starts off class with an “A”.
- All students will participate in class.
- Homework assignments are worth 2 points. Incomplete assignments (not showing work, not finishing all problems) will receive at most 1 point. Homework assignments are graded for completeness, not accuracy. If you try your best and show all of your work but get all the problems incorrect, you will still receive full credit. Homework is independent practice and sometimes we get things wrong when we practice.
- Late homework will receive half credit (1 point out of 2). Assignments are considered late when the assignment is turned in one day after the due date. Assignments handed in beyond one day late will receive zero credit.
- Of course, any student who is sick or experiences an unforeseen emergency will have extended time to complete homework.
- All the material on a test or quiz will be material that we have gone over in class or did for homework.
- Students will be given a “Practice” Test/Quiz to use as a study guide for the actual test.
- In addition, there will be a "test review day" before each test. During this lesson, students will practice additional problems similar to those on the upcoming test.
- If you have any concerns about anything (class content, where you sit in class), PLEASE come see me. We will work something out.
- Make sure you do all of your homework and study your "Practice Tests". There are no "make ups" or Re-dos" in seventh grade.
- Grades are final and are non-negotiable. “You earn what you learn!”
