When my daughter was about seven years old, she asked me one day what I did at work and
I told her that my job was to teach people how to draw.
She stared at me, incredulous, and said, "You mean they forget?"  ~Howard Ikemoto

Dear Parents,

Welcome to  Art in Room 105!

Everyone is an artist in their own unique way.
Students will develop confidence and learn to appreciate that we all create art differently  so our art should never look the same.

Please encourge them to just try new things  and have an open mind to how they solve a design problem or create.

Thier artwork will come home framed  in a portfolio and will look great on your walls or refridgerator!

6th  grade artists will  explore abstract art, cartooning, drawing, painting, and sculpture.

7th grade artists will explore printmaking, painting, shading and value drawing, portraits, and one point perspective.

8th graders will  explore the world of Adobe Photoshop and Graphic Design.

Art History, Creative Thinking, and  Problem Solving are integrated into each lesson.

Students will explore the elements and principles of art within every lesson.

Art History is intertwined in every lesson to expose students to a variety of art, artists, cultures, and techniques from Eqyptian Art & the
Great Pyramids of Giza, to the modern and digital world of today.

Parents:

If you have a love for art or anything to share with the class,

please feel free to reach out.

We have had parents and former students

come in to demonstrate and share their art,

send their child to school with artifacts, books, or posters

that were enjoyed by all.

If you know of any links or sites to share about art,

I would love to add them to  our collection.

Donations of  chinese food and deli containers with lids
are always welcome.
