Hi 5L/O Students and Parents of ,
Welcome to Ligos/Ort 2024-2025 School Year!! My Name is Miss Susan Ort and I am a special education teacher that will be working wit the students in the Ligos/Ort Fifth Grade.
This year I will be co-teaching with Mrs. Ligos for Language Arts and Social Studies with the 5-L/O fifth graders in the morning and then I will be traveling with the same students to Mrs. Jones’ classroom for Math and Science. I have found that when there are co-teachers in a classroom, the students blossom. They reap the benefits of the expertises of two teachers. The students also have the ability to recieve extra help and/or reinforcement within the classroom, in real time.
I have known Mrs. Ligos for quite a while and am looking forward to working with her again this year. As for Mrs. Jones, I have known her since she was a student at Old Farmers. We have talked about Math and are looking forward to combining our skills and love of teaching to develop our students into mathematical thinkers.
I have worked at Old Farmers for a very long time. During my years as a special education teacher, I have worked worked within general education classrooms, grades K-5, as well doing small group instruction.
I am looking forward a wonderful year!!
