On this webpage you will find information on just a few of the many things
we have worked and will continue work on in our classroom.

LIGOS / ORT 5TH GRADE ELA & SS
- Completed a brief unit on mythology with an emphasis on comapring & contrasting two Greek heroes - Prometheus & Hercules
- Introduced our new unit of study - World War II
- Worked with Word Study, specifically word morphology & various word sorts
- Constructed responses to open-ended questions using the I.R.A.C.E.S. formula
- Continued to work with perspective, specifically of different cultures
- Completed our freedom position paper
- Analyzed two incredibly important historical documents - the Emancipation Proclamation & the Gettysburg Address

LIGOS / SPINO 4TH GRADE ELA & SS
- Introduced and continue to work through several novels about the American Revolution
- Worked with Word Study routines & rules along with word morphology
- Worked to apply accurate capitalization & punctuation rules in our writing
- Constructed responses to open-ended questions using the I.R.A.C.E.S. formula
- Completed several Book Club "jobs" which asked us to make connections to our reading & identify powerful paragraphs in our novels
- Worked through the very powerful document - the Declaration of Independence
