Gr. 5 English Language Arts (ELA) & Social Studies (SS)
- Continuing to work through our study of WWII and Holocaust Education
- Began moving through the powerful novel Number the Stars by Lois Lowry
- Constructed solidly written responses to open-ended questions using the I.R.A.C.E.S. formula
- Reflected on our unit of study through various perspectives of WWII
- Continued to work through thoughtful word study with a focus on word morphology
- Assessed our amazing growth by completing many different assessments!
- Enjoyed several special "5th grade only" activities

Gr. 4 English Language Arts (ELA) & Social Studies (SS)
- Continuing to work through our unit of study ~ Crossroads to the American Revolution
- Continued to construct solidly written responses to open-ended questions using the I.R.A. & I.R.A.C.S formulas
- Continued to work through thoughtful word study with a focus on word morphology
- Created some very powerful "patriot protest posters" fighting King George III and his tax acts against the colonists
- Began moving through three powerful novels, all with a Revolutionary War theme...Phoebe the Spy by Judith Berry Griffin, Secret Soldier by Ann McGovern and Toliver's Secret by Esther Wood Brady
- Assessed our amazing growth by completing many different assessments!
