Gr. 5 English Language Arts (ELA) & Social Studies (SS)
- Began our new unit of study "Power & Progression"
- Analyzed why and how the U.S. Constitution connects to us
- Began reading Jeanne DuPrau's amazing novel The City of Ember
- Began an indepth study of Westward Expansion in America
- Constructed solid written responses to open-ended questions using the I.R.A.C.E.S. formula
- Continued to work through thoughtful word study with a focus on word morphology

Gr. 4 English Language Arts (ELA) & Social Studies (SS)
- Enjoyed finishing up our reading of The Jersey Trackers & the Imagination Tree Mystery
- Continued to construct solid written responses to open-ended questions using the I.R.A. & I.R.A.C.S formulas
- Began constructing an opinion essay on the topic "The Best Field Trip Destination Is..."
- Enjoyed creating some "incognito turkeys"
- Getting ready to begin our new reading of the powerful novel by Elizabeth George Speare The Sign of the Beaver
- Continued our study of the amazing Lenni Lenape
