Dear Parents,

 

I am so excited for a new school year.  This will be my 19th year teaching at Van Holten School! When I started my teaching career in 2005 after graduating from Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania with a degree in special and elementary education, my first assignment was 2nd grade and I am so excited to be back at this grade level.  Throughout my tenure, I have taught in co teaching, LLD and resource room settings in grades K-4.  I have extensive training in multisensory phonics, teaching reading,  managing behavior plans and providing personalized modified instruction to meet the needs of every learner. 

 

As we embark in this new school year, please make sure your child has the following for the first DAY of school labeled with first and last name: 

 

-backpack

-lunchbox (with snack and lunch if not buying from cafeteria) 

-refillable water bottle

 

Please send in the following within the first week of school: 

 

-2 pictures of your child 

-smock or old tshirt

-full change of clothes (underwear, socks, shorts, tshirt) 

-1 set of headphones in ziplock bag

 

All school supplies will be provided.  During Back to School Night and throughout the school year, there will be opportunities to donate items if desired such as: 

 

-clorox wipes

-tissues

-baby wipes

-paper plates

I am looking forward to a fun year of learning together and look forward to making this year a memorable one and working closely together.
