Expectations:
- You will come ready to learn every day.
- You will ask questions when you do not understand. I am not a mind reader! The only way that I will know that you are having a problem is if you tell me.
- You will be responsible for missed assignments and assessments. If you ask me, I will tell you what you missed, but I will not hunt you down every time you miss class and tell you what to make up.
Student Requirements:
- Homework will be assigned almost every day. DO IT!!! The only way you get better at something is to practice and homework is practice!
- Homework will be checked daily at the beginning of class. You may not hand in homework later in the day if you forget it.
- To get full credit every problem must be attempted, but not necessarily correct. Attempting a problem does not mean copying the problem from the book! Do not be afraid to get the wrong answer. I expect you to make mistakes!!
- Homework will be worth between 3 and 5 points.
- Quizzes will be given periodically throughout each unit.
- They will be worth between 30 and 70 points.
- Quizzes may be announced, unannounced or take home.
- Tests will be given at the end of each unit and sometimes in the middle.
- Tests are always announced and worth between 80 to 100 points!
- Please check your agenda for test days.
- Participation Grade/Class work – Your participation grade will include answering questions, going to the board, any in-class group work, lateness and general classroom decorum. Any discipline matters will result in a deduction on your participation grade.
**The number of days that you are absent will be the number of days you have to make up your work.
