Rules:

  1. Be to class on time everyday, or have a pass. Any students arriving without a pass after the late bell will receive a tardy, and a detention.
  2. Bring your calculator, notebook and a PENCIL to class everyday.
    1. Any assignment done in pen will not be graded.
    2. Your IPOD and CELL PHONE may NOT be used as a calculator!
    3. I will NOT provide calculators for you.  Please purchase one.
  3. Get seated and have your notebook and calculator ready to start right away.
  4. Seating Assignments – You will have an assigned seat in this class.  Do not ask to be moved unless you have a physical need (eye sight, hearing, etc.).  I reserve the right to change seats whenever I see fit.
  5. Be respectful of your peers and the teacher.  This means that you should not be talking when the teacher is talking.
  6. Cheating on any assignment, quiz, test, etc… will result in a zero for that assignment.  Turning in assignments that have been copied, paraphrased, or in any way display shared answers will be considered cheating.
  7. Cell phones, iPods, iPads are NOT allowed in the classroom.  If I see it, you will receive a Saturday detention!

**All other rules and regulations in the student handbook apply.

 Expectations:

  1. You will come ready to learn every day.
  2. You will ask questions when you do not understand.  I am not a mind reader!  The only way that I will know that you are having a problem is if you tell me.
  3. You will be responsible for missed assignments and assessments.  If you ask me, I will tell you what you missed, but I will not hunt you down every time you miss class and tell you what to make up.

Student Requirements:

  1. Homework will be assigned almost every day.  DO IT!!!  The only way you get better at something is to practice and homework is practice!
    1. Homework will be checked daily at the beginning of class.  You may not hand in homework later in the day if you forget it.
    2. To get full credit every problem must be attempted, but not necessarily correct.  Attempting a problem does not mean copying the problem from the book!  Do not be afraid to get the wrong answer.  I expect you to make mistakes!!
    3. Homework will be worth between 3 and 5 points.
  2. Quizzes will be given periodically throughout each unit.
    1. They will be worth between 30 and 70 points.
    2. Quizzes may be announced, unannounced or take home.
  3. Tests will be given at the end of each unit and sometimes in the middle.
    1. Tests are always announced and worth between 80 to 100 points!
    2. Please check your agenda for test days.
  4. Participation Grade/Class work – Your participation grade will include answering questions, going to the board, any in-class group work, lateness and general classroom decorum.  Any discipline matters will result in a deduction on your participation grade.

**The number of days that you are absent will be the number of days you have to make up your work.
