My name is Kristin Compton, and I will be servicing your child’s English as a Second Language (ESL) needs this year in school. I have been a Washington Township teacher for eighteen years with most of my time being spent as a First Grade teacher.  Having had many English Language Learners in my classroom over the years, I am looking forward to working with them in a more intimate setting.

I have a Master’s Degree in Literacy from Centenary University with a New Jersey Reading Specialist Certification and English as Second Language certification.  Much of my classroom and literacy training correlates with the intervention-style instruction related to ESL.  At home, I am a mother of two daughters ages 20 and 15.  When I am not at school, you can usually find me reading, at the beach or cheering on my daughters on the sidelines of their field hockey games.

I am excited to have the opportunity to work with your child.  Please feel free to reach out to me anytime with questions or concerns.  My contact information is listed below, but email is the best way to reach me since I am in between two buildings daily.   I am here to support them anyway I can,  in and out of the classroom.  Please feel free to share anything that you may feel is important to know about your child. I will be working closely with their academic teachers as well whether I push-in to their classrooms or pull your child out for services.
