Dear Parent/Guardian and Young Artist,

I am excited about working with your child in Art. This website will briefly describe the subject I teach, grading procedures, disciplinary policies, and materials needed for the Art class.

Class information:

we will do some very interesting assignments and projects that cover basic drawing techniques, elements of art, art history, and a few of the principles of design. As long as the student put forth their best effort on all the assignments, they should do well in my class.

Most of the six-week grade will come from the assignments. These assignments may be daily or they may be projects that go on for one or two weeks. Whatever is not finished in class will be homework, unless otherwise instructed, and will be due the following day. All drawing should be done in pencil, unless otherwise instructed.

In addition to that, the students will receive a grade every week for the daily Beginning Of Class Assignment (Bell Ringer).

I f a student who is not absent does not return in an assignment, 10% of the total points will be deducted from the grade if turned in the next day. A score of zero will be given after the assignment is more then one day late. A 0/50 or 0/100 will really pull their grade down.

 Art Supply Fee:

An $8.00 Art Supply Fee will be charged to each student to cover the cost of the required art supplies such as sketchpads, paints and other art media necessary to participate successfully in the subject. With the payment of this fee, no additional supplies with the exception of a pencil and a positive attitude will be required. To allow me to order supplies in a timely manner the fee will be due no later than January 17, 2017. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns regarding this fee. I look forward to working with your student this year.

If you have any concerns or questions, please call the school for a conference.

I am here to help your child succeed.
