Asalaam Alaikum! I am from Miami, Florida and have lived in Greenville for three years. I have a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from Vanderbilt University and a Masters degree in Early Childhood Special Education from the University of Miami. I taught both Kindergarten and Fourth Grade for Miami-Dade County Public Schools. This is my first year teaching at As-Sabeel Academy and my fourth year as a parent. I am excited to be working with such bright young stars.
I believe that children learn holistically and learn best when engaged in activities that are meaningful to them. I also believe that strong skills provide them with a solid foundation on which to grow. Just as no two children are the same, no two classes are the same, and I believe that different approaches are necessary to reach all students. I welcome both participation and communication from parents–education is a team effort!
I have six children, five of whom are As-Sabeel students. I am currently working on my Islamic Studies Certification and enjoy visiting the mountains and spending time with my family.
