Dear Families,

I would like to welcome you and your child to the third grade! In order to make this a rewarding and enjoyable experience for all, I would like to recommend the following ideas:

o Fill out and return the “Emergency Information form(s)

o Choose a “Homework Buddy” who can take your child’s work home in the event that your child is absent from school

o Provide appropriate school supplies (see website – supply list tab)

o Sign your child’s “Assignment Pad” daily.

o Check your child’s “Homework Folder” for any notices being sent home and work that needs to be completed

o Provide a place to complete homework/study which is free from distractions.

o Create and implement a “Homework Contract” that suits the needs of your child. (Contract will be sent home on the first day of school)

o Establish good study habits from the beginning of the school year. A good routine is so important!

As we are about to begin a new school year, I wanted to welcome you to the third grade! I hope you are having a great summer and are excited to go back to school! School begins on Tuesday, September 6th. I am looking forward to meeting and getting to know all of you!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Bethe
