Ms. Berard's Spanish Classes

Welcome to my website!  I teach Spanish at LSVI. I graduated from LSU as a University Medalist with a BA in English and minors in Spanish and history. I was a member of the Honors College and wrote an honors thesis on Shirley by Charlotte Brontë, my all-time favorite author. As an undergraduate student, I received a Rotary scholarship to study in Seville, Spain for a year, which fueled my love for all things Spanish. Upon returning and finishing my BA, I decided to enter the Masters program at LSU in Hispanic studies where I completed a Masters thesis on the 19th century Spanish author Emilia Pardo Bazán. I am certified as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired and love reading and writing in braille. Literature and Spanish are two of my great passions, and I am so happy to share them with my students every day! Please feel free to contact me by email at sberard@lsdvi.org.
