Welcome to Mrs. Berkley & Ms. Marrero's First Grade Class
We are entering the last month of school and we will be very busy. This the last push to get these first graders ready for 2nd grade. I am very proud of all the hard work that has happened so far this year. I am looking forward to ending the school year on a high note. We will be taking our final STAR assessments this month on the 4th and 10th. Please make sure that your child has a good night's sleep, has eaten a good breakfast, and is on time to school on these days. Please make sure you are reading with your child every night.
We would love to have guest speakers come in  to share their experiences. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us.

We would like to remind all parents how important it is for your child to read every night.  Please set aside a 15 minute time period for reading.  Also, it is important that your child bring their library books back to school everyday.  Even if they have not finished the book.  There is silent reading time during the day and if your child does not have their book, they will have nothing to read.

Also, please remember to sign the planner nightly.  This way we know that you have seen it (even if they have stayed on green ).  Please make sure you praise your child for good behavior as it reinforces what we want to see in the classroom and at home!

The best way to get notes to us is to either put them in your child's Homework Folder or if it is a quick note just write it in the planner.  We check these everyday, so we will be sure to get the message.  Please know that if your child is changing the way he/she is going home it has to be in writing.  Otherwise, we will need to send them the way they normally go home.  If you have any questions or concerns, you can also e-mail me at:  [email protected]
Please make sure you are signing your child's planner every night (even if they have stayed on green).
