Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to another exciting school year at Three Oaks Middle!

I am your child’s 8th grade English teacher, and I am delighted to have him/her in my class this year. I am looking forward to a very successful year and I know you are too. I have high expectations for your child and I will do all that I can to help your child achieve those expectations.

In addition, it is my goal to provide all students with an educationally challenging, yet fun, experience in my classroom. We cover a lot of material in one class period and if your child does not complete an assignment in class, he or she will be required to complete it at home. The way you can help is to ask your student every school day if school-work needs to be done, and if so, make sure your child completes the assignment by the due date.

You can always find all class work and homework in your student’s Online Google Classroom. Just ask them to log in and show you what is due and when. When assignments are submitted online, they come with a “Date and Time” stamp. Google Classroom is the PRIMARY place for online submission of assignments, but should all technology fail, students need to submit their work on paper with legible handwriting, so that it is easy to read. Due dates for paper and online submissions are the same.

I am available for brief consultations during my prep periods (White Days – Period 3, Blue Days - Period 4) from 11:00 am to 12:00.

Finally, I want you to know that one of my most important goals is to keep the lines of communication open with you. I am available every day to talk with you between 8:30-9:00 a.m., as well as during my planning periods.

Please, don’t hesitate to contact me at 239-267-5757 or stellap@leeschools.net, if you have any questions or concerns during the year.
