Welcome to Ms. Bruhn's Class Page
Welcome to third grade! My name is Ms. Bruhn (pronounced
like broom but with an n :-) and this will be my second year at
Tropic Isles and my seventh year teaching at the elementary level. I am so excited to have your child in my class this year. I have many fun things planned for us!
I would like to work closely together with you, and I believe frequent communication is vital. If you ever need to get ahold of me you can reach me at school. I check my email very regularly: Jenniferbru@leeschools.net, or you can call the school’s front office and they can connect you to my room: (239) 995-4704. If I am unavailable please be sure to leave a message with your name and a number where I can reach you.
Please be sure to keep up with our classroom Class Dojo Webpage. There you can see daily behavior reports and what we’re doing in the classroom newsfeed. This is a great place for you and me to stay connected by sending messages, questions, comments, or concerns.
Third Grade is a big year for thinking and learning! Here are some tips to help make this year successful:
◌Please make sure your child is prepared to keep up with their AR (Accelerated Reader) goals by reading at least 20 minutes at home every night.
◌Provide an environment conducive to learning at home. Establish a regular homework time and have a quiet place for your child to study.
◌Talk every day about the progress he/she is making in each subject. When your child knows that you think school is important, he or she will take it more seriously.
◌Learning always starts at home and your child’s mood affects how well he/she learns. A positive outlook is the best thing you can inspire in your children to keep them performing well at school and willing to tackle their homework.
◌Help your child stay calm and confident on test days.
◌ Teach your child to set goals.
◌Read together at least once a week.
◌Proper rest and healthy meals are very important for the overall development of your kids.
◌Make every effort to be actively involved in your child’s
education and in our school.
I am looking forward to having a wonderful school year with both you and your child!! Please never hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.
