Tuesday-

Today we started a new unit on Energy.   In class you have the whole period to complete the edusmart module on Potential and Kinetic Energy. These notes will be used as we do actvitities during the rest of the week. So if you do not finish them in class finish them for homework tonight. The log-in info is printed on your notes booklet if you forget it.

Today we will review our notes from yesterday and then apply them to complete the first of our labs for this unit.

Thursday-

Today we will do a virtual simulation called Energy Skate Park PHET.  We will look at how energy is transfered from Potential to Kinetic Energy and how this relates to the Law of Conservation of Energy.

We will be working on our Rocketry Unit.  This will be a performanced based project in which students will research, design, construct

and launch bottle rockets made out of 2 liter bottles.  Students may choose to work alone or colloboratively with no more than 3 other students.

Students are responsible for collecting ALL supplies to build thier rockets.  Most all supplies are suplies that they have at home or can be purchased

Week of August 15th

Monday-8/15

Today we took the S.L.O. for Physical Sciecne. This will be a pretest for the year.  It will not count as a grade for our class; however, you may see that the assignment appears in the gradebook.  Afterwards students finished their Matter Vocabulary and then had time to work on the Matter Extension activity.  This activity is EXTRA CREDIT and is due on Friday.  Metric Measurement Extension activities.docx

Homework:  If you have not finished your vocabulary finish it. It is due tomorrow and will count as your first homework grade.  The Matter Quizlet is one of the links on the left hand side of the screen.  You can use the quizlet to help you finish and to help you study.  The test will be next week.  It never hurts to start studying now.
