Assignments

Students are responsible for recording homework assignments in the planner at the beginning of each week. On the rare occasions that no homework is assigned, that should be recorded in the planners, as well. Parents/Guardians are asked to check planners at least once a week.

Homework

Homework will be assigned each class period and is due the next class period. All Lessons contain tutorials on-line :

Make-up work for excused absences:

Students are responsible for completing any work missed during an absence from class.

It is highly recommended that students read the lesson(s) missed and/or go the tutorial section on-line while absent in order to stay on track. A student will be given as many days to complete an assignment as the number of days that the student was absent, plus one. School board policy dictates this procedure.

Extra Credit:

The ONLY extra credit given is test corrections (see "Test Corrections Policy" for more details) and bonus questions on tests and quizzes. It is more important to complete the required work. TEST CORRECTIONS ARE DUE 1 WEEK FROM THE RETURN OF TEST- USUALLY THE FOLLOWING CLASS PERIOD.

Grading Policy

A student’s nine-week average will be based on:

  • Class work/Homework - 25% (6th Math), 20% (6th Math Advanced)
  • Quizzes/Projects - 35% (6th Math), 30% (6th Math Advanced)
  • Tests – 40%(6th Math), 50% (6th Math Advanced)

Required Materials

Students will need the following materials with them each class period: Charged chromebook, three sharpened pencils (one must be fixed lead), one sharpener with a compartment for shavings, erasers,  dry erase marker, composition book, and the consumable textbook and their binder. All assignments will be done in pencil!

Classroom Rules:

Students are expected to follow all school rules as stated in the Student Code of Conduct and follow all classroom created norms.
