It is very important to me that students learn why Biology is important to them and how their knowledge enables them to make informed decisions about themselves, their health, the environment, and social concerns.
Biology is the study of living things. This course allows students to persue in-depth analysis of biological concepts. The thematic framework in this course is organized around 8 themes in Biology. The central theme of evolution is emphasized in each unit as a primary organizing theme, beginning in the first week of class when we discuss the evolution of macromolecules. As we study each unit, we study in terms of each theme and from a personal perspective.
